Diving Thailand
Phi-Phi Island
At Phi Phi Islands the topography from the surface is absolutely stunning; monolithic limestone mountains rising vertically from the sea and soaring to heights of more than 500m.
Underwater you’ll find an amazing environment of caves, overhangs and swim-throughs in the sift rock. Dives include sheer walls that plunge from the surface to over 25m. These walls are teeming with life and is host to soft and hard corals, fans, black corals, sea whips, tropical reef fish of all varieties, octopus, leopard sharks to name a few. The diving is spectacularly scenic and suitable for all levels of experience. Visibility is usually 10 – 20m and the currents are only moderate.
An interesting bit of trivia about Phi Phi is that it was made famous by the movie “The Beach”.
The Phi Phi islands offer a remarkable variety of dive sites within the island group.
Two of the most popular and beautiful sites are Bida Nai and Bida Nok at the southern tip of Phi Phi Le. Expect to be amazed by the huge gardens of staghorn and star corals and fish life density and variety that is rivaled by few sites worldwide. The island lifestyle is seductively relaxed and quaint. There is a variety of accommodation to suit any need.
Calypso Divers offers a Friday – Saturday overnight special to the Phi Phi islands. On this fun and action-packed trip you will get to do 7 dives, including a night dive. You’ll spend Friday night at a lovely, ocean-front hotel on the main Phi Phi Don itself.
